The 'Post' is the central focus of your site and all the other activities are generally relegated to plugins or side bullets that accompany your webpage. When, for me, the summation of these separate actions are really worthy as 'first class' content citizens.

It tends to make a personal website appear stale, when in actuality you're all over the web making changes, sharing links, etc.

Re: www.ian.dees.name - iphone gui testing

Gorilla Logic has just open sourced FoneMonkey, a true record/playback functional testing tool for the iPhone. Thanks! Indeed, the technique works with either the simulator or the iPhone. Is there a way to make it run with the simulator? While cucumber is running? It would provide a great visual for demos, etc. Thanks!

Re: www.ian.dees.name - bacon cucumber sandwich

well the developer's phone number is from the UK so....shropshire blue?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

Re: www.ian.dees.name - bacon cucumber sandwich

Well, there is a Ruby project called Cheese (http://rubyforge.org/projec.......

Re: www.ian.dees.name - bacon cucumber sandwich

i'm confused...what kind of cheese am i supposed to be using?

Re: www.ian.dees.name - iphone gui testing

Hi, Brian.

Thanks for the link; UISpec looks quite readable. Think I'll give it a try to compare and contrast with Cucumber. Speaking of, I'm about to post more recent Cucumber + iPhone material here. For now, it's at http://slideshare.net/undee....

On the subject of IDE integration... Matt Gallagher has successfully triggered his XML-based test scripts from Xcode. See the section entitled "Auto-Run Build Step" in http://cocoawithlove.com/20.... It should be possible to do something similar with Cucumber.

--Ian

Re: www.ian.dees.name - iphone gui testing

This is pretty cool stuff...it would be great if we could use Cucumber within XCode, but I guess we will have to wait for MacRuby support in iPhone development.

In the meantime have you taken a look at UISpec? http://code.google.com/p/ui... - It's an open source BDD framework for iphone ui testing. The only drawback right now is that you have to write your scripts in Objective-C, but this does allow for a fully integrated environment.

Cheers!

Re: www.ian.dees.name - bacon cucumber sandwich

See?
